COVID-19 RESPONSE

Mar 23, 2020

With guidance from the CDC, MN Dept of Health, our network of affiliates and the board of directors, Love INC-Heartland is taking steps to address this unprecedented situation with Covid-19.

  • The Delano and Howard Lake thrift stores will be closed until April 15 in the best interests of staff, customers and volunteers.  We will reassess as the situation progresses on whether to re-open at that time.
  • Similarly, donations of merchandise will not be accepted during this time.
  • Our Fresh Start classes will no longer meet in person but are evaluating ways to continue to meet specific needs.
  • We are postponing the Spring Gala fundraiser for now until the fall.  Please support us in the meantime so we can continue our important work in these challenging times.
  • Our staff is working in a combination of at-home and adjusted schedules or roles.  Obviously if anyone is ill or caring for someone they will not be in our offices.
  • Our Family Advocacy / Clearing house department and affiliation with church partner gap ministries WILL CONTINUE TO OPERATE.  We are committed to the critical work we do in assisting neighbors in need especially in times like this, and in our role to help mobilize churches and their volunteers.

Love INC is ideally suited to serve an impactful role in the current situation.  We will actively identify needs and available resources to serve in this fashion.  We are not fearful, but rather have "a peace that transcends all understanding" as we trust in God's presence and guidance in these times.  Christ's love and salvation prevails over circumstances of such world events and we look expectantly for how we can reflect that in our service to others.

"He who refreshes others will be refreshed."
